I started this programme whilst in the midst of trying to lose weight and was able to gain strength whilst working at a calorie deficit. I was able to reach my goal weight, dropping from 112kg to 100kg in 3 months, whilst also managing to increase strength more than I had ever expected to. In 3 months of doing the programme I managed to increase my max squat for 3 reps of 95kg to 130kg. My bench press has raised from 90kg to 110kg. My overhead press has increased from 55kg to 67.5kg. The strength increases have definitely increased since moving into a calorie surplus, which is expected and shows the effectiveness of the programme. The inclusion of structured deload weeks allowed me to continue with the workload whilst giving my body the time to rest, even when I didn’t want to slow down at times! I would do another programme given to me by ascension fitness without hesitation.
